Baseball wins first league contest

Eagles baseball hosted Newport Tuesday in the league opener for Lakeside, and came away with a decisive win, scoring 9 runs to 2. Both teams chalked up 6 hits, but Newport committed two more errors than the Eagles, 4 to 2.

Stillar (2-0) got the win, and he was relieved in the circle by Gilrein and Graham.

Froemke got two hits (one a double), and he was joined by Stillar, Richards (2 singles), and
Phillips.
