X-C girls jump to #4

The Lakeside varsity girls cross country team has joined the boys in the top five of the 1A Coaches Poll for the week of October 27. Heading into championship week, the Lady Eagles were voted #4 in state after spending most of the 2008 season at #10 (one week at #9), while Lakeside boys remain the #1 1A team in state as ranked by the Washington State high school cross country coaches association. King's girls, winners of last year's championship, remain the #1 1A XC team in the state, followed by La Center and Nooksack Valley.

The boys visit Wenatchee Thursday for a Regional meet with the Caribou Trail League, hoping to secure one of the three combined District 6/7 allocations to the state meet in Pasco November 8th. District 7 did not combine allocations with District 6 on the girls side, so Lakeside girls are going to state on the single NEA allocation.

Good luck at Regionals, boys harriers!
