Flu strikes #3 X-C girls

The flu bug has attacked the Lakeside girls cross country team as they prepare to head to Pasco tomorrow for the State Championship meet, freshly upgraded to a #3 statewide ranking in the coaches poll for the week of November 3rd. King's girls remain at #1, followed by La Center at #2. Former #3 Nooksack Valley dropped to #6, while Bellevue Christian takes over the #4 spot from the Lady Eagles, who spent most of the season at #10.

Lakeside boys remain the #1 ranked XC team in state, followed by Charles Wright Academy, King's and Caribou Trail League Chelan. CTL's Cashmere is ranked #6.

According to Head Coach Steve Olson, Lakeside girls harriers have never brought home hardware from the state meet in the history of the school, but he had been optimistic this season's young squad had a chance to break that drought. Trophies are presented to the top four team finishers.

Get well, ladies, and have a great run at State this Saturday!
