On Wednesday, Feb 25, the Lady Eagles (3rd seed from the NEA) traveled to Moses Lake High School for round one (loser out) of the District 6/7 Regional Basketball competition against the 2nd seed Tonasket Tigers. Not even a sea of yellow T-shirts that read "Beat Lakeside" on the Tonasket fans could ruffle the feathers of the Eagles. The Eagles and the Tigers were fairly evenly matched in the first half, but a three-pointer in the last minute of play left the score 19-16, Lakeside up, at the half break. But the Eagles regrouped in the locker room and came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 17-10 in the 4th quarter.
Final score: Lakeside wins 44-36. High Scorers were Kendra Lahue:18 and Leslie Stillar:12.
The girls advance to play in round two of Regional play at Moses Lake High School on Friday, Feb 27, against Freeman at 5:30 pm.
See you in Moses Lake!
