Lakeside varsity boys cross country team took the small school team title at the Farragut/Super 1 Invite last Saturday, September 19th, 2009 at Farragut State Park, Athol, Idaho, led by Jr Colton Berry's second place finish in 18:01.7. He was closely followed by teammate Ryan Rojeski at 18:29.7, who took 3rd individually in the small school bracket. The Eagles finished with 60 points to Logos' 74, Bonners Ferry's 80 and Timberlake's 124. Chewelah was 7th in small school team scoring with 181 and Newport came in 12th with 278.
The Lakeside varsity girls grabbed the 2nd place small school trophy with 39 points behind team winner Timberlake with 25 points. The Eagles' senior veteran Evangeline Rehwaldt was 3rd in small school with a 21:39.3. Cross country newcomer Kenna Middleton was 6th with a 22:13.8.
Both teams are ranked 4th in state to start the early coaches polling.
